What Prisme Africa is

Prisme Africa is an aggregator of African and Africa-related news. We cluster stories, label Origin and Tone, and sell labelled placements on /partners. Cards quote a headline and link out. Full text on Prisme is a short cluster summary, not a scrape dump. The briefing reads public RSS from the 13 group mastheads.

Who owns Prisme

Legal entity, jurisdiction, and directors: TBD. This page does not invent those facts. When they are locked, they will be published here in full. No shell games on this page.

What we do not own

Independent local titles, state media, activist sites, and international wires appear when ingested. This window indexes the 13 group mastheads listed above. We do not put a Reuters or AFP byline on a story we have not ingested.

How Origin is assigned

Origin is a registry field on each source: local, pan-African, or international. Local means the outlet's primary market is the country the story is about, or a city desk in that country. Pan-African means the outlet covers multiple African countries as its beat. International means HQ and primary audience sit outside Africa. A foreign bureau filing from the country can override the registry. Origin is a share of distinct sources, not a share of word count.

How Tone is assigned

Tone v1 classifies the lead and headline of each item into critical, neutral, or supportive for this story. Critical leads with harm, failure, allegation, or skepticism. Neutral is straight news. Supportive leads with success, endorsement, or promotional framing. Tone is about the article, not the outlet's identity. Store the label, the model name if any, and a needs-review flag. Human review is required when the cluster includes an owned outlet or a disclosed related company. Never compute Tone as owned equals supportive. Appeal: corrections@prismeafrica.com.

How clustering works

Window: 48 hours (config). Input: ingested URLs from the hub allowlists. Embeddings: model name stored on the cluster. Group: agglomerative / cosine nearest. Threshold: TBD until locked in code. Editors can merge, split, retitle, retone, add a source, or reject a source. Language: cluster in EN for the embedding, keep original headlines on source rows. A French UI is planned at /fr.

Blindspot thresholds

A cluster enters Blindspot when one of these is true: an Origin hole (one Origin bucket has 0 and another has at least 3), a Tone hole (one Tone bucket has 0 and another has at least 3), or a local hole (the story is geo-tagged to an African country, local is 0, and international is at least 3). Thresholds are config. Do not silently change them without a changelog here.

Related-party news

If a cluster is about an industrial operator or e-moto company that shares public founders or shareholders with a disclosed partner, we will say so on the story and here. Facts still have to be sourced. No related-party flag is live on this window.

Funding

Production funding will list advertising, labelled /partners placements, and any grant. No unnamed sponsors. No live advertisers and no grant to disclose yet.

AI training choice

robots.txt allows GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, CCBot, and meta-externalagent. Because CCBot is allowed, the Content-Signal line permits search and retrieval. Training policy for production remains a legal choice and will be restated here if it changes.
